With more than two decades of experience in the software industry, Ms. Fowlie has held several executive positions at Cognos and IBM Canada including most recently a role in Program Operations within IBM’s Security Systems division. For many years Karen’s focus was on market growth through globalization and her contributions to and active involvement in this area of the industry resulted in an invitation to sit on the Advisory Board for the Localization Institute’s Management Roundtable. Karen has represented IBM at the International Women’s Forum and at The Leadership Forum at the Telfer School of Business in Ottawa where local leaders gather to discuss challenges and best practices in the industry. Karen was elected to the role of Chair of the Executive Committee for the Development Director’s Community at Cognos and was a founding member of the Coaching Community Advisory Board.
Ms. Leonard is the Senior Vice President of the Information Technology Association of Canada. She has over 20 years of experience in organizational communications and public policy advocacy in the information technology sector. She helped to establish the first Ottawa chapter of the Wired Women Society, and she is a member of the Board of Directors of Canadian Women in Communications. In 2010, she was honoured with a World of Difference 100 Award from the International Alliance of Women.
Dr. Ricketts is Vice-President (Academic) and Provost at Carleton University. He has had a long and distinguished career in higher education, beginning at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. An expert in ocean and coastal management and strategic environmental assessment, he is widely published in academic journals and books, with research supported by grants from federal and provincial agencies. He earned a BA (Hons) from the University of Nottingham and a PhD from the University of Southampton.
Mr. Sehgal is a highly driven international telecom executive with over 20 years of industry knowledge in various technical and senior management roles. Experience ranging from P_L ($200M) ownership, general management, product strategy, product delivery, engineering management of geographically diverse teams, go to market strategy and management of partner alliances.
